Climate Innovation Championship

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions ("Agreement") govern participation in the Purple Umbrella Festival Climate Innovation Championship. By submitting an application, each student, team, school, or youth innovator ("Participant") agrees to abide by these terms.

2. Eligibility

• The idea, model, or prototype must address a climate, sustainability, or environmental challenge.
• Participation is open to eligible students, school teams, college or university teams, and youth innovators.
• Applications must be submitted through the official registration process by the published deadline.

3. Selection Process

• Applications will be reviewed by the Festival’s selection panel based on innovation, impact, and feasibility.
• Selected participants will receive confirmation through their registered email address.
• The Festival reserves the right to reject applications without providing reasons.

4. Participation Guidelines

• Selected participants must actively participate in the festival showcase, presentation, mentoring, or championship sessions, as agreed upon.
• Participants must submit any requested promotional materials (logos, videos, presentations) by the specified deadline.
• All demonstrations must align with the sustainability theme of the festival.
• The Participant shall not engage in misrepresentation, fraudulent claims, or unethical marketing during the Festival.

5. Intellectual Property & Media Rights

• Participants retain full ownership of their intellectual property.
• By participating, entrants grant the Festival a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use submitted materials (logos, project descriptions, images) for marketing and promotional purposes.
• The Festival reserves the right to record, photograph, and broadcast innovation presentations and exhibits.
• Participants agree to be featured in media coverage, interviews, and promotional materials.

6. Fees & Financial Terms

• Participation in the showcase is free, but additional services (e.g., special exhibition booths, promotional slots) may be chargeable.
• Participants are responsible for their own travel, accommodation, and setup costs.
• No equity, commission, or funding commitment is provided by the Festival.

7. Liability & Indemnification

• The Festival is not liable for any loss, theft, or damage to a participant’s materials, equipment, or intellectual property.
• Participants assume full responsibility for their exhibits, products, and public interactions.
• The Participant agrees to indemnify and hold the Festival harmless against any legal claims, damages, or liabilities arising from their participation.

8. Cancellation & Modifications

• The Festival reserves the right to modify, reschedule, or cancel the Climate Innovation Championship for reasons including force majeure, venue issues, or unforeseen circumstances.
• Participants will be notified in case of changes but are not entitled to compensation or reimbursement.
• Participants who wish to withdraw must notify the Festival as early as reasonably possible before the event.

9. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

• These Terms shall be governed by the applicable laws of India.
• Any disputes will first be addressed through good-faith negotiation and then through the applicable legal process.
