Terms and Conditions for Theatre Participation – Schools
Purple Umbrella Festival
These Terms and Conditions ("Agreement") apply to all schools and educational institutions participating in the Theatre segment of the Purple Umbrella Festival. By submitting an application to participate, the school ("Participant") agrees to adhere to the terms outlined below.
Eligibility
- Participation is open to recognized schools and educational institutions.

The school must be able to produce a theatrical performance on the theme of
Climate Action, focusing on areas such as climate change education, conservation, pollution, renewable energy, and sustainable communities.
- Student participants must be enrolled in the institution they represent.
Registration & Selection
- Applications must be submitted through the official form by the stated deadline.
- Selection will be based on concept originality, relevance to the theme, and student engagement.
- The decision of the Festival Selection Committee will be final and binding.
- A non-refundable registration fee of Rs. 20,000 must be paid by each selected school to confirm participation.
Performance Guidelines
- Each performance must be between 15 to 20 minutes.

Schools must submit their scripts to Purple Umbrella for approval. The Festival's jury may suggest revisions or improvements to ensure alignment with the theme and standards.
- Performances must not include any form of hate speech, obscenity, or political propaganda.
- All content must be original or properly credited, with necessary permissions in place.
- Schools must ensure all students involved are under adult supervision at all times during rehearsals and performance.
Rehearsals & Event Day Conduct
- Selected schools must attend a mandatory technical rehearsal as per the schedule provided.
- Schools are responsible for the costumes, props, and makeup required for their performance.
- Participants are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the spirit of collaboration, creativity, and respect.
- Schools must make their own travel and accommodation arrangements for the duration of the Festival.
Intellectual Property & Media Consent
- The Festival reserves the right to photograph, video record, and livestream performances.

By participating, schools grant the Festival permission to use performance content, school names, and student images in media, promotional content, and festival archives.
- Schools must ensure they have obtained parental consent for all participating students.
Safety & Liability
- The Festival will take all reasonable steps to ensure participant safety, but will not be held liable for injuries, loss, or damage.
- Schools are advised to bring a first-aid kit and have an assigned staff member responsible for student welfare.
Withdrawal & Disqualification
- Schools wishing to withdraw must inform the Festival team at least 2 weeks prior to the performance date.
- The Festival reserves the right to disqualify any school for non-compliance, inappropriate behavior, or misrepresentation.
Governing Law & Disputes
- These Terms shall be governed by the laws of India/Haryana.
